Biography & Career:
Masoom Rajwani is a stand up comedian, satirist, and writer based in Mumbai, India. Born and raised in Mumbai, he comes from a Sindhi background — and is notably one of the few Sindhi comedians who refuses to rely on Sindhi jokes, preferring instead to build his material around sharper observations on politics, identity, and everyday Indian life. The real name of Masoom Rajwani is the same as his stage name, with no known alias or pen name attached to his public persona.
The comedy journey began on 18 January 2016 at an open mic night, and what followed was years of relentless stage time on the Mumbai circuit. Known for an unusually high performance rate — hitting up to 7 or 8 shows in a single day — the work ethic paid off quickly. A background in theater added depth to the stage presence, and the material, drawn from personal experience, cultural contradictions, and political commentary, gave the act a distinctive voice in an increasingly crowded scene.
The comedy show Taboo Talk marked a significant step in the career, earning strong responses on tour across Indian cities. The special Made in India, released in 2025, brought the work to a much wider audience online, with sharp, unfiltered sets on religion, free speech, and the absurdities of modern India. With over 455,000 followers on Instagram and a growing YouTube channel, Masoom Rajwani has built a dedicated following that extends well beyond the live circuit. Details about family, parents, wife and father have never been made public, as personal life is kept firmly separate from the stage. Upcoming shows continue to be announced regularly across Indian cities and beyond.
