Biography & Career:
Enissa Amani is an Iranian-German comedian, activist and television presenter known for sharp stand up comedy about politics, racism, identity and everyday absurdities. The family fled political persecution in Iran in the 1980s and settled in Frankfurt, where the future star grew up. Before comedy came law and literature studies, a job as a flight attendant and several beauty pageant titles.

The parents were opponents of the Iranian regime: the father, a literary scholar, spent four years as a political prisoner, and the mother is a physician. No reliable source confirms a brother, and there is no confirmed information about a husband. Religion also stays private, although Iranian heritage and identity are frequent themes on stage.

The comedy career began at an open mic in 2013 and quickly led to major German TV comedy formats. In 2015 Amani won Best Newcomer at the German Comedy Awards and finished fourth on a celebrity dance competition. A late-night show on ProSieben followed in 2016, and two years later Amani became the first German woman with an international Netflix stand-up special. English-language sets at the Soho Theatre in London, the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles and the Comedy Cellar in New York took the act abroad, while a panel talk on racism earned the Grimme Online Award in 2021.

Live performance remains the heart of the career. Each tour is built around a fresh programme that blends personal stories with social critique, and the act has grown from open mic nights to full theatre audiences. News about upcoming events is shared with a large Instagram following, where fans also post their tickets and favourite moments from past performances.
