Abadi Al-Johar is a musician, singer, and composer popular in Saudi Arabia. The musician began his career in 1968.
But he started playing oud when he was 11 years old and practiced 9 hours a day. Later on he was called Ikhtabout Al-Oud (Octopus of the Oud) from the late Talal Maddah for his amazing oud playing.
Abadi Al Johar is famous in the Gulf for being a composer of up to 50 albums. The composer has also collaborated with such top pop stars as Maddah, Assala Nasri, Samira Said, Abbas Ibrahim and Aseel Omran.
His biggest hits are the two songs “Awazel” and “Eyaunek.” Abadi Al Johar new songs released in 2021 by Galo Tara and Sheft Al Waham have received thousands of views on YouTube. Abadi Al Johar was awarded the Best Khaleeji Musician Award from Egypt, and the Golden Oud from Rotana and others.
The singer is an honored guest at different events, for instance, “Lailat Abadiyat” concert that took place in Riyadh Boulevard to honor Al-Johar. There he performed his old most popular hits as well as new ones.
The composer is also an honored member of the Saudi Arabian Society for Culture and Arts.
The musician was married and has two daughters. His wife died in 2006.
