Fatman Scoop (6 August 1968 – 30 August 2024), born Isaac Freeman III, was an American hip-hop artist and hype man renowned for his booming voice and infectious energy, best known for the chart-topping hit “Be Faithful.” He passed away at the age of 56 after collapsing during a live performance in Hamden, Connecticut, leaving behind a vibrant legacy in hip-hop and dance music.
Fatman Scoop was an American hype man, hip-hop promoter and radio personality famed for his powerful, raw on-stage voice.
He is best known for the song “Be Faithful” which went to number one in the United Kingdom and Ireland in late 2003 and reached the top five in Australia. The song had long been a favourite in clubs around the world for years but it took two years to clear the samples from Jay-Z, Black Sheep, Queen Pen, The Beatnuts and Faith Evans.
He also collaborated with numerous artists, such as Lil Jon, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston, Pitbull and Skrillex, among others.
