Dubai has made it into the list of the world’s top 20 wealthiest cities, according to the World’s Wealthiest Cities Report 2025 by Henley & Partners and New World Wealth. The city now ranks 18th globally, climbing up three spots from last year.

As of now, Dubai is home to over 81,000 millionaires, 237 centi-millionaires (people with over USD 100 million), and 20 billionaires. This growth puts it ahead of any other city in the Arab world and shows how fast it’s becoming a global magnet for wealthy individuals.

To give a bit of perspective, New York City tops the list with 384,500 millionaires, followed by the Bay Area (including San Francisco and Silicon Valley) and Tokyo. Other big names in the top 10 of the wealthiest cities in the world include Singapore, Los Angeles, London, Paris, Hong Kong, Sydney, and Chicago.

Over the past ten years, the number of millionaires in Dubai has more than doubled — growing by 102%. That makes it the third-fastest growing city worldwide for high-net-worth individuals.

Experts say the boom is thanks to Dubai’s strong economy, business-friendly rules, and long-term planning. The trend doesn’t seem to be slowing down either. By 2034, the number of ultra-wealthy individuals in the region is expected to double.

Whether it’s investors, entrepreneurs, or high-earning professionals, more and more of the world’s richest are choosing Dubai as their base. Adding to its accomplishments, Dubai made it into the top 5 of the IMD Smart City Index 2025. This global ranking evaluates how well cities use technology to enhance everyday life, from housing and public services to sustainability and digital access.
