Sheikh Zayed Festival 2025 has officially begun in Al Wathba, Abu Dhabi, welcoming visitors from across the UAE and beyond. The festival brings together 22 participating countries, each showcasing its traditions, heritage, and art through national pavilions.
Sheikh Zayed Festival will run until March 22, 2026. Over the next five months, visitors can enjoy more than 4,000 cultural events and 750 public shows.
This year’s theme is “Hayyakum,” which means “Welcome.” The word perfectly reflects the festival’s atmosphere of warmth, hospitality, and cultural pride.
A visit to Heritage Village remains a festival favourite. Guests can walk through traditional pavilions, browse local markets, and watch folk performances that tell the story of Emirati life and values.
Traditional sports are also part of the fun. Visitors can catch Dhow sailing races, falconry competitions, Zayed Grand Camel Race, and Emirati Traditional Cuisine Contest. Later in the season, a Ramadan Sports Tournament will bring even more activity to the schedule.
The New Year’s Eve celebration is set to be one of the biggest moments of the festival. Expect a massive fireworks, lasers, and more than 6,000 drones, along with live music and children’s activities to welcome 2026.
The festival is open daily:
- from 4 PM to midnight on weekdays
- from 4 PM until 1 AM on weekends and public holidays
With all the entertainment and family-friendly attractions, Sheikh Zayed Festival is a must-visit this season. If you want more events that celebrate the UAE’s heritage, learn about Eid Al Etihad festivities in December.
