Here’s some news that will make any book lover’s heart race! Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) is about to get a new permanent home in the heart of the emirate. If you’ve been planning to visit this huge event, in 2027, it’ll be at a brand-new venue.

Construction is already underway, and the project is expected to cost AED 500 million. The new venue will give the fair a dedicated space and help it grow even bigger.

It’s located along the Emirates-Al Dhaid-Khorfakkan road network, one of the city’s key transport routes. This makes it easy to get to the fair, whether you’re coming from Sharjah or anywhere else in the UAE.

In 2025, SIBF celebrated its 44th edition. After moving to its new home, the event will continue to host author talks, festivals, and cultural activities for visitors from all over the world. And of course, visitors can expect even more celebrity speakers. Last year, actor Will Smith was invited as a guest speaker, setting the bar high for future editions.

Besides the new venue for the book fair, Sharjah has other projects in the works. Check out District 11, a futuristic AI-designed business hub, and the newly renovated Al Estiqlal Square, which now features the Independence Monument and a restored mosque. The city is changing fast, and there’s a lot more to come!
