If you use WhatsApp and want better visuals and a few extra features, you might get that soon. It looks like a premium version called WhatsApp Plus is now in testing. The feature has been spotted in the Android beta version of the app, where a limited number of users can already try it.

Right now, it’s only available to a small group of Android beta users. There’s no iOS version yet, and no confirmed date for a wider release.

Here’s what’s currently included in this version:

  • Premium stickers
  • Custom themes
  • Custom app icons
  • More pinned chats
  • Premium ringtones
  • Extra chat list options

If you’re worried the app might become fully paid, that’s not the case. All standard features stay free. Messaging, calls, and media sharing work exactly the same without WhatsApp Plus subscription.

WhatsApp has also introduced a few other changes recently. Business accounts are now charged per message, with the pricing model in place since July 1, 2025. If you’re a parent, there’s good news. The app now includes parent-managed accounts, letting kids under 13 use the messenger with strict control over chat settings.
