Pastries from Dubai’s favourite chef? Yes, that’s now a thing. Reif Othman has launched CRISP, a new bakery inspired by the flavours and traditions of Nordic baking.
Dubai is hardly short on great bakeries. There’s Princi at Dubai Mall, Hofmann Bakery in DIFC, and even LOMA, the city’s first probiotic restaurant and bakery. But when a spot comes from Reif Othman, expectations are naturally a little higher. And judging by the menu, he doesn’t disappoint.
The selection goes well beyond Scandinavian bakes. There are classics like breads, cookies, pastries, and doughnuts. You’ll also find creative desserts like Matcha Strawberry Roll or Vanilla Brûlée Millefeuille.
And of course, Chef Reif has a few signature creations up his sleeve.
Some of the bakery’s standouts include:
- Shio Pan, a Japanese salt bread with a buttery texture
- Pandan Kaya Jam Doughnut, filled with a Southeast Asian coconut and pandan jam
- Genmaicha Crème Castella, a Japanese sponge cake flavoured with roasted rice green tea
- Shokupan Loaf, a soft Japanese milk bread
If you’re already assembling your first order from CRISP, you can find it on Deliveroo and have breads, pastries, doughnuts, and cookies delivered straight to your door. You can also check out the bakery at REIF Japanese Kushiyaki in Dubai Hills.
