Egypt has announced an official holiday on July 2, 2026, to mark the anniversary of the June 30 Revolution. For many employees in public sector, that means a three-day break from Thursday to Saturday.

The day off applies to employees in ministries, government agencies, public authorities, local administration units, and public sector companies, with work suspended at those entities for the day.

If you have exams scheduled, nothing changes. Educational examinations will continue on their planned dates.

The June 30 Revolution became a public holiday in 2015. This year, the day off has been moved to Thursday as part of the country’s policy of shifting some public holidays to the end of the working week.
