There’s an important UAE highway update you’ll want to be aware of if you're planning to drive between Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah. Starting September 1, part of the E11 highway in Ras Al Khaimah will be closed for the first phase of a major roadworks project. If you're driving through Ras Al Khaimah, here's an important update: starting January 2026, the speed limit on Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Street (E18) will drop to 80 km/h. This stretch runs from the Applied Technology Schools to Al Kharran Roundabout and is one of the main roads in the emirate.
