Riyadh food lovers, prepare your taste buds! The celebrated Persian eatery Berenjak is heading from the streets of London to the vibrant dining scene of Saudi Arabia this February. Nestled in the upscale Via Riyadh, this pop-up marks an exciting addition to the Middle East’s growing culinary landscape.

Berenjak, whose name is inspired by the cheerful snack of toasted rice often enjoyed at Persian funfairs, brings a fresh take on Tehran’s traditional eateries. The restaurant transforms the concept of a humble Iranian “hole-in-the-wall” into a dynamic dining experience that captures the richness of Persian culture and cuisine.

The Berenjak story began in London in 2018, where it earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand for its exceptional food at affordable prices. By 2023, the brand expanded to the UAE with locations in Sharjah and Dubai.

At Berenjak Riyadh, diners can expect an authentic yet modern take on Persian classics. The menu features a delightful variety, from noon o mazeh (Persian-style small plates) to signature coal-grilled kebabs, hearty khoreshts (stews), and saffron-infused rice dishes like Zereshk Polow Ba Morgh with chicken.

Highlights also include Ghormeh Sabzi, a fragrant herb stew with lamb, and Torshi Hafebijar, a tangy cauliflower pickle. And Berenjak’s showstopper not to miss – the coal-fired kebabs, which are crafted using traditional recipes and techniques to deliver bold, smoky flavors.

Berenjak Riyadh opens this February — don’t miss the chance to immerse yourself in this modern Persian culinary journey. The restaurant will join a star-studded lineup of eateries at Via Riyadh, including Spago by Wolfgang Puck, making this a destination for food enthusiasts from across the region.
