Back in 2016, Dubai revealed plans for one of the most ambitious skyscrapers ever: Dubai Creek Tower. At the time, the project aimed to surpass the Burj Khalifa in height. Fast forward almost 10 years, and the vision has shifted to something even more captivating.

The original design for Dubai Creek Tower was inspired by the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. It was planned to feature a 360-degree observation deck, a café, shops, a museum, and an indoor auditorium.

In early 2026, Mohamed Ali Alabbar, founder of Emaar, confirmed that they are moving ahead with the project and the tower’s height is no longer the main priority. With five other super-tall towers coming soon to the city, the focus is now on architectural beauty and the quality of the surrounding environment.

The tower will be located in a new district at Dubai Creek Harbour. Another highlight of this area is the enormous Dubai Square Mall, which will function as an indoor city, with cars driving through. The whole development is expected to open in three years. You can already check what’s coming to Dubai Square here.

With the new design of Dubai Creek Tower to be yet revealed, a new phase of the project is about to unfold. Let’s see how this part of Dubai evolves: it’s surely going to be something incredible.
