A green space five minutes from home can make a real difference to your daily routine. In Dubai, you may not have to go far to find one. A new park could soon open right next to you. Dubai Municipality has announced plans to open 35 parks in the city this year. They will serve 23 residential communities, and most will be within a five-minute walk from nearby homes.

Come with your kids, use the courts, go for a run, or just touch the grass for a bit. There’s a space for each kind of activity:

  • For kids: early childhood areas and more than 60 playgrounds
  • For sports: 18 football fields, 20 multi-use courts, and skate areas
  • For running and cycling: tracks and open lawns
  • For sitting and relaxing: shaded seating, picnic areas, and water features
  • For meeting up: F&B spots and indoor and outdoor areas

These new parks will use modern technology for maintenance: recycled water for irrigation, renewable energy, and systems that manage resources.

Over the next four years, Dubai Municipality plans to open 120 parks and plant more than 1.5 million trees. This is part of Dubai’s Green and Blue Spaces Roadmap 2030, a large project that will gradually change how the city looks..
