Starting Friday, July 25, banks in the United Arab Emirates will begin phasing out one-time passwords (OTPs) that are currently sent by SMS and email. Dubai just got a step closer to flying taxis becoming part of daily life. The city’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has confirmed the first successful air taxi test flight, carried out in partnership with Joby Aviation, a company based in the US that makes electric aircraft. There’s an important UAE highway update you’ll want to be aware of if you're planning to drive between Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah. Starting September 1, part of the E11 highway in Ras Al Khaimah will be closed for the first phase of a major roadworks project. Residents in Dubai will now be required to clear all outstanding traffic fines before renewing their residency visas, according to a recent announcement by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA).
