The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has officially opened a brand-new stretch of road in Dubai Investment Park, designed to accommodate both vehicle traffic and the upcoming Etihad Rail service. This latest infrastructure move is a major step forward for Dubai’s expanding transport network.

The newly completed 1.8km flyover connects Dubai Investment Park with Al Yalayis Road, allowing cars to move overhead while freight trains pass safely below. A right-hand exit towards Emirates Road has also been added, helping to ease traffic flow in one of the city’s busy logistics and industrial hubs.

The project isn’t stopping here. The next phase will see the road extended through the Jumeirah Real Estate area, featuring a two-lane road in each direction to further improve connectivity across the city.

Currently, Etihad Rail is operating solely for freight transport, but plans are already in motion to introduce passenger services. The future rail network aims to connect a selection of major stations across the UAE, including a high-speed service between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, reshaping how people travel between the two cities.

This newly opened road is one of several major developments happening to ensure that when Etihad Rail’s passenger lines launch, the surrounding infrastructure is ready to support it.
