Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has begun work on a major upgrade at the Nad Al Hamar Intersection, aimed at making your daily commute smoother and faster. Drivers can expect a nearly 30% reduction in travel time once the work is completed.

A new 850-meter lane is being added for vehicles coming from Ras Al Khor Street, heading towards the Nad Al Hamar Intersection, close to Nasser bin Lootah Mosque. This is great news for drivers who face congestion in this area, particularly during peak hours. But that’s not all — vehicles coming from Al Rabat Street and turning left towards Nad Al Hamar will also benefit from expanded lanes.

Here’s how the road improvements will benefit drivers:

  • The new lanes should reduce journey times from 15 to 11 minutes, a significant reduction in just a short stretch of road.
  • The improvements will increase the capacity of the intersection to 6,400 vehicles per hour (now, it’s 4,800), easing traffic flow during busy hours.
  • Particularly in the evenings, the upgrade will help ease the congestions, especially for commuters heading to areas like Rashidiya, Al Qusais, and Dubai International Airport.

This project is just one part of the ongoing improvements across the city designed to make driving in Dubai faster and more efficient. Keep an eye out for more upgrades as the RTA continues to improve roads throughout Dubai.
