Biography & CareerJimmy Carr is an Irish comedian, writer and an actor. He is also known for hosting international TV shows.
He was born in the family of Irish immigrants. Jimmy Carr's parents were middle class employees. His father worked as an accountant for a computer company and his mother was a nurse in the hospital. Jimmy Carr has 2 brothers. None of them is a comedian (There is another comedian with the same surname Carr whom people think to be one of Jimmy Carr brothers).
Jimmy attended Burnham Grammar School and went to political science at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge which he finished with distinction.
After school Carr tried himself in marketing and programming. But he was still dreaming about being a comedian.
In 2000 he performed his first paid stand-up gig at the pub. In 2004 comedian Jimmy Carr hosted a US version of Distraction for Comedy Central which was nominated for one of the highest awards for Best Game Show Host. After that he presented such comedy shows as 8 Out of 10 Cats, A Comedy Roast, The Fix and a few other projects.
Today Car is a not only a successful presenter and comedian but he is also a happy father. Jimmy`s Carr partner Karoline Copping and he have a two year old son.
