Biography & Career Ahmed Ali, professionally known as Wegz, is an Egyptian rapper and actor. Born in 1998, Wegz rose to stardom in Egypt and the Arab world with the release of his track "Dork J" on March 11, 2020. The song quickly became a massive success, garnering over 24 million views on YouTube within just two months. Wegz established himself as the most listened-to Egyptian singer on Spotify in both 2020 and 2021. Hailing from the Wardian neighborhood of Alexandria Governorate and tracing his origins back to Luxor, Wegz completed his education at the American University. After graduating, he briefly worked at a telecommunications company before deciding to pursue a career in music. One of his notable early successes was the song "TNT," released in 2018. In 2021, Wegz ventured into acting, making his debut in the series "Bimbo" directed by Amr Salama.
