Indian actor Nandamuri Balakrishna has, in his 5-decade long career, become known as one of the leading actors in the Telugu film industry. Having made his debut at age 14, Balakrishna has starred in over a hundred films, winning numerous accolades and awards in the process.
Born into an acting family, Balakrishna made his debut in ‘Tatamma Kala’, which was directed by veteran actor and director N.T. Rama Rao. He continued to star in a range of works, including ‘Janani Janmabhoomi’, for which he received critical acclaim.
Balakrishna enjoyed commercial stardom with his role in the 1987 film ‘Apurva Sahodarudu’ as well as ‘Presidentugari Abbai’ and ‘Muvva Gopaludu’. He continued to add to his filmography, winning the Nandi Award for best actor in 2001 for his role in ‘Narasimha Naidu’, an award which he won nine years later for ‘Simha’.
The awards continued to come for Balakrishna, seeing him become a recipient of three Filmfare Awards South, including one for ‘Sri Rama Rajyam’. He also added a SIIMA Award for Best Actor in ‘Legend’ and an invitation to be the guest of honor at the International Film Festival of India.
