With parents of Egyptian and Iraqi descent, one would expect singer-songwriter Mohamed Ahmed Ali’s musical inclinations to be Middle-Eastern, but that’s far from reality. This possibly has do with his birth having been in Denmark where he was raised too. While a lot of his peers dove into electronic music during their formative years, Ali’s passion fell into RnB and Pop.
Ali had his high musical ambitions set at a very early age, which pushed him to have a gig on Danish show “Scenen er din” making him an already familiar face. After which, Ali tried his luck with the Danish version of The X Factor in 2009 and quickly became a crowd favourite there too, making it to the Final 3. He was soon called on to be the warm-up act for Beyonce’s concert in Denmark in 2009. With this experience, Ali pushed forward to ensure a contract is made with record-label giants Sony Music allowing him to release his debut hit single “Rocket”. With experience in the studio for few years, Ali went on to represent Denmark in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 with his track ‘Unbreakable” that despite finishing second, grew very popular and was released as a single.
