Part of the infamous second wave of Detroit techno DJs, Stacey Pullen is renowned for his long, experimental, soulful and adventurous DJ sets that sprawl for hours keeping the dancefloor moving as he switches it up from soul drenched techno to fizzing tech house. A musician from the age of 9, music has always been the most important part of Stacey Pullen’s life thanks to his Dad’s Motown band The Capitals. He bagged his first gig in 1985 before he learned the tricks of the trade from three Detroit techno legends: Derrick May, Juan Atkins and Kevin Saunderson. They taught him how to create music, how to build his sound and how to play to the emerging techno crowd.
By the mid-90s, Stacey was travelling Europe as a techno DJ including seminal gigs at Ministry of Sound in London and the legendary Rex club in Paris. With his DJ schedule picking up, Stacey Pullen became increasingly selective with his productions, and spent the next few years building his musical education and gaining a reputation as a fierce, fresh and dynamic DJ. So much so, that he’s dropped incredible mix compilations for world-leaders like Fabric, Balance and DJ Kicks, further enhancing his reputation as a truly world-class DJ and a big ticket draw.
