Biography & Career:
ARTBAT is a Ukrainian DJ and production duo from Kyiv, consisting of Artur Kryvenko and Vitaliy Limarenko, better known by his nickname Batish. The names behind the project reflect its dual nature — two experienced producers who each spent years building solo careers in the clubs of Ukraine before their paths crossed. The two met in a Kyiv club in 2014, instantly recognized a shared musical vision, and formed ARTBAT shortly after. Their first studio session alone was enough to confirm the chemistry, and the debut EP Mandrake, released on Definition Music, climbed Beatport's overall top 100 and stayed there for a full month.
The ARTBAT genre sits at the intersection of melodic techno, progressive house, and hypnotic electronica — a sound that is equally at home on intimate underground dancefloors and enormous festival stages. That versatility has been central to the duo's rise. Early support from Richie Hawtin, Solomun, and Tale of Us helped propel the project internationally, and by 2019 the recognition was undeniable: Mixmag named them Stars of the Year, Beatport ranked them the overall number one best-selling artist, and the Ibiza DJ Awards handed them Breakthrough Artist of the Year. That same year, ARTBAT delivered a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix and performed a now-legendary Cercle livestream atop Sugarloaf Mountain in Rio de Janeiro.
The ARTBAT nationality is Ukrainian, and that identity has remained important throughout the career — even as the djs have become genuinely global figures, headlining Tomorrowland, Coachella, Ultra Music Festival, Awakenings, and DC10 Ibiza. In 2021, Artur and Batish launched their own independent label UPPERGROUND, initially conceived as a home for their own releases but quickly growing into a respected platform for the wider electronic music community. Collaborations with CamelPhat, WhoMadeWho, David Guetta, Armin van Buuren, Kölsch, and Idris Elba have broadened the reach further, while their remix of Monolink's Return to Oz became one of the most popular songs in the melodic techno world. The best songs in the catalog span nearly a decade of dancefloor hits and have been played by virtually every major name in electronic music. The ARTBAT shows and concerts consistently sell out across continents, with upcoming events and tour dates drawing crowds from Europe to the Americas — tickets tend to disappear fast whenever a new show is announced. There is no confirmed information about net worth, as both members keep financial details private.
