Brothers Salim and Sulaiman Merchant are well-renowned music composers in the Bollywood industry. The siblings made their mark as composers in 2003 with the release of hit film Bhoot. Since then they have composed the film score for over 100 films including Band Bajaa Baaraat, Kurbaan, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, Neal n Nikki and Chak De! India.
The Merchant brothers have also appeared on reality TV series as celebrity judges and composed music for several popular TV shows. The duo have won numerous awards including Best Music for the film ‘Fashion’ at the Syracuse Internationl Film Festival in New York and have been nominated for a daytime Emmy Award for ‘Save the Tiger – Wonder Pets’.
Salim and Sulaiman have captivated audiences across the world with their live concerts. Their composition of 2010 FIFA World Cup anthem ‘Africa – You’re a Star’ in collaboration with South African singer Loyiso Bala and Kenyan singer-songwriter Eric Wainaina received much acclaim.
The dynamic duo has also made its mark on the international music scene with collaorations with pop music legends Lady Gaga on ‘Born this Way’ and Enrique Iglesias on ‘I’m a Freak’.
