Arijit Singh’s career took off in 2005 after he participated in Hindi music reality show Fame Gurukul where he finished an admirable second place. If was after coming first in 10 Ke 10 Le Gaye Dil, another reality T.V. show, that the Bengali playback singer rose in popularity in the India market. Singh built his own recording studio and fell in love with music programming which lead him to become assistant music programmer to some of the greats such as Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Vishal Shekhar Pritam Chakraboty and Mithoon
It was in 2013 that the West Bengal native became a household name on the Indian scene, with the release of ‘Tum Hi Ho’ which featured in the movie Aashiqui, winning an award for Best Male Payback Singer at the 59th Filmfare Awards. He went on to collaborate with Jeet Gannguli on City Lights singing ‘Muskurane’, which garnered many award nominations in 2014 and ‘Suno Na Sangemarmar’ & ‘Mast Magan’ which were both nominated for the 60th Filmfare Awards.
Touring all over India and abroad Arijit Singh has sold many tickets to concert throughout the country, firmly cementing his place as one of the top 20 singers in India.
