Dubai’s road toll system, Salik, will transition to variable pricing from January 31, introducing a dynamic approach to toll rates based on traffic patterns. This new pricing model aims to ease congestion and improve traffic flow during peak hours.
Salik Toll Pricing Details
From January 31, the toll rate on Dubai roads will be AED 6 during peak hours on weekdays:
- Morning peak hours: 6 AM to 10 AM
- Evening peak hours: 4 PM to 8 PM
During off-peak times, between 10 AM to 4 PM and 8 PM to 1 AM, the toll rate will drop to AED 4. On Sundays, excluding public holidays or major events, the toll will remain AED 4 throughout the day, with a free period from 1 AM to 6 AM.
The variable toll rates will not apply during Ramadan, ensuring a consistent driving experience for residents and visitors observing the holy month.
Dubai’s New Parking Tariffs Coming in 2025
Dubai will also implement a Variable Parking Tariff Policy by March 2025. The new system differentiates between premium and standard parking spaces, with pricing adjusted based on the time of day:
- Peak hours (8 AM to 10 AM, 4 PM to 8 PM): premium spaces – AED 6 per hour; other spaces – AED 4 per hour
- Off-peak hours (10 AM to 4 PM, 8 PM to 10 PM): Prices remain the same.
Parking will be free overnight (10 PM to 8 AM) and all day on Sundays.
A Congestion Pricing Policy will apply to public parking near event venues, beginning with the Dubai World Trade Centre in February 2025. During major events, parking fees near these areas will rise to AED 25 per hour.
These adjustments reflect Dubai’s broader efforts to manage traffic more effectively while balancing accessibility and convenience for residents and visitors alike.
