Dubai’s hospitality scene is expanding in a new direction — one that’s calmer, slower, and more intentional. Hygge Hotel, a boutique adults-only property, is set to open in early 2027 on The World Islands, adding a fresh take on wellness-focused stays just off the coast.
Hygge Hotel is inspired by the Danish concept of hygge — comfort, warmth, and simplicity. Designed by HWKN Architecture, the property is part of The Heart of Europe development and aims to create a space where guests can unplug and unwind. Rather than bold designs or high-energy nightlife, Hygge leans into soft lighting, cosy materials, and a slower pace.

The hotel will feature:
- 96 guest rooms, each designed in muted tones with wooden details and plush textures
- Four dining concepts that align with the hotel’s calming theme
- Saunas, tranquil gardens, and quiet zones throughout the property
The overall atmosphere is minimalist but comfortable, with a focus on well-being and mindful living. It’s a setting that encourages long breakfasts, quiet reflection, and the simple joy of doing nothing.

Hygge Hotel joins a growing list of properties on The World Islands, including voco Monaco by IHG, Côte d’Azur Resort, Portofino Hotel, and Venice Hotel. What makes it stand out is its adults-only policy and boutique scale — perfect for solo travellers or couples looking for a break from the noise of the city.
If you’re curious about other projects shaping The World Islands, keep an eye on Sweden Beach Palace. This exclusive resort will feature nine beachfront mansions, further cementing the area’s status as a luxury destination just minutes from Dubai’s mainland.
