Chart-topping band Travis are one of the most recognizable names in rock in the UK. Having been an act since 1990, the band have toured the world numerous times, sold millions of copies and won numerous awards for their work which includes 8 studio albums and numerous singles.
Having come together in the early 1990s, Travis performed around Scotland and their home city of Glasgow before releasing their debut album in 1997. The album, titled ‘Good Feeling’, went up to Number 9 on the UK Chart.
Travis achieved major success with their next album, ‘The Man Who’. The album topped the UK Chart, going 9 times Platinum in the process as well as charting around the world. It also included the Number 5 song ‘Coming Around’, but they gained mainstream success with ‘Why Does It Always Rain on Me’ when rain began to pour at their Glastonbury performance during the song. Travis followed their second album with a 237-show world tour including shows at Glastonbury, T in the Pak and V Festival as well as a US tour with Oasis.
Travis repeated their second album’s success with The Invisible Band, which came out in 2001. It topped the Norwegian, Irish and UK Album Charts, being certified Gold and Platinum around the world. Their lead single, ‘Sing’, went up to Number 3 in the UK and was another instant hit for the band.
Since the success of their second and third albums, Travis continued to reach Top Ten with their subsequent albums, seeing them add ‘Re-Offender’ and ‘Closer’ to their singles repertoire.
