Something new is coming out of Cairo’s factories, and it’s not textiles or steel. A homegrown company, Raedbots, has started building factory robots locally instead of relying on imports. It focuses on machines used in everyday industrial work, including welding, packaging, and moving materials inside factories.

The company is part of the NVIDIA Inception programme and also works with the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center under Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. Everything from hardware and electronics to control systems and AI software is developed in-house.

The robots use AI to adjust how tasks are carried out, which helps reduce downtime and keep production running without frequent interruptions.

Raedbots is starting with systems that handle routine but precise tasks:

  • Robotic arms for welding
  • CNC machine tending
  • Material handling
  • Packaging lines
  • Warehouse automation

The company says local production can reduce costs by up to 50%.

It’s not the only good news for the country recently. Egypt also climbed 10 places in the Women, Business and the Law 2026 report by the World Bank after recent labour law updates strengthening women’s rights at work. The country seems to be on a winning streak lately.
