Starting January 2026, Friday prayers in the UAE will begin earlier. The General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Awqaf, and Zakat has announced that the sermon will now start at 12:45 PM. There’s an important UAE highway update you’ll want to be aware of if you're planning to drive between Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah. Starting September 1, part of the E11 highway in Ras Al Khaimah will be closed for the first phase of a major roadworks project. A temporary 2-km road will be built to keep traffic moving safely during the construction period. Distance learning in the UAE is staying in place a bit longer. Remote classes will continue until at least Friday, April 17. The decision was announced by the Ministry of Education, which will monitor the situation and provide weekly updates.
