Biography & Career

Fun Lovin' Criminals, an American rap rock band hailing from New York City, gained widespread popularity, particularly in Northwest Europe, during the late 1990s. Known for their hit "Scooby Snacks," which features Quentin Tarantino film samples, and the song "Love Unlimited," reminiscent of Barry White's vocal group, the band's music often revolves around life in New York City and urban settings. Their lyrics can be both gritty and existential, delving into topics such as organized crime and urban violence, while also maintaining a humorous and satirical edge. Founded in 1993 by Huey Morgan, Brian "Fast" Leiser, and Steve Borgovini, they quickly garnered attention from EMI and secured a record deal. Their debut album, "Come Find Yourself," released in 1996, earned them hits like "Scooby Snacks" and "The Fun Lovin' Criminal." Subsequent albums, including "100% Colombian" (1998) and "Loco" (2001), continued to solidify their fan base. Despite the departure of Huey Morgan in 2021, the band perseveres, and Brian "Fast" Leiser now serves as the lead singer with Naim Cortazzi as the new guitarist. Fun Lovin' Criminals' unique blend of hip-hop beats, blues, and rock has left an indelible mark on the music scene.
